Text

• Fonts,color etc.
• Is there blinking text?
• Is color chosen to ensure a strong contrast between the text and the background?

• Is heading 1 used exactly once per page?
• Do the paragraphs have good headings or subheadings?
• Are appropriate fonts used?
• Are less than 3-5 fonts used in the text?

• Do images complement the text or replace it?
• Do all images have alt-text?
• Are images larger than they need to be?
• Are you warning the visitors for long downloads?
• Is the size of all images specified?
• Do animated images distract the visitors?

Code

• Are there scripting errors?
• Are there HTML coding errors?
• Forms
• Are style sheets used?
• Does the text at the top of the page contain all the relevant keywords?
• Is the HTML validated?
• Does it look OK in all browsers version 4 or newer?

Speed

• How is the performance - download time?
• Is the browser loading the text first?
• Is the homepage size limited to 30 K? It should display lightning fast!
